1.3 INSTALLATION
It is important that
you follow the installation instructions that accompany your
installation CD-Rom. There is a different installation for single
user and the multi user version of ADVANTAGE Salon Software
and Spa Software. If you have any
difficulty installing the program, please do not hesitate to call our
technical support line.
INSERT THE DISK, THEN WAIT A FEW MOMENTS, THE INSTALLATION WILL
BEGIN AUTOMATICALLY.

The installation will default to the Salon folder on your computer’s
hard drive press OK to continue.
2.
Choose the TYPICAL installation. This will install all the necessary
files for the software.
If the installation does not start automatically then click Start then
Run then Type D:\Setup.exe (D: is your assumed CD ROM drive) The
system will then prompt you through a couple of options.
If you get this or similar messages while installing:
Setup could not write to the file c:\windows\system\wininet.dll
This file is
currently being used by another application. Close any open
applications. Abort Retry or Ignore. Select Ignore.
PLEASE NOTE:***When you first start ADVANTAGE Salon Software
and Spa Software you may be
required to select the SSM_Data.mde to attach the programs to the data
files (the window says “Please locate the data for ADVANTAGE”). That
file by default will be in the Salon folder on your hard (C:) drive.
The employee logon password is: 1111
***IMPORTANT: SET YOURSELF UP AS AN EMPLOYEE WITH USER
GROUP - “SUPERVISORS” SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LOG ON
WITH RIGHTS TO ACCESS ALL MODULES OF THE SOFTWARE.
To copy the ADVANTAGE Salon Software
and Spa Software icon onto your desktop, simply right click your mouse on
the icon from your Start, then Programs. Select the copy option, then
right click any where on your desktop. Select the paste option. This
will create a shortcut for you on your desktop.
